Happy fall, everyone! I've gotta say, if there is one thing in the whole world that gets me in the fall mood, it's settling down with a movie or tv show that gives me ALL the cozy vibes. And since I'm sure I'm not the only one who starts watching more horror movies the second September rolls into town, I figured I'd share some of my favorites with you so that you, too, can get in the shpooky season mood! So, without further ado, here are my top tv & film recommendations for fall (but mostly for halloween because anything with a *little* bit of scare factor is sure to get me in the holiday spirit). Lets get into it, shall we?

TV
I think it'll be no surprise when I tell you the top tv show I like to start rebinging around this time of year is "Gilmore Girls." There truly is just something about Stars Hollow and a small picturesque town with picturesque people and streets that really gets me excited for the cooler weather. That and it's SUUUUUPER nostalgic (considering the first season came out in 2001...) Anyway, it's one of my absolute favorite tv shows to watch during the fall months and I recommend it 1000000%.
Of course, this is also the time of year where I like to rewatch some of the more spooky shows, especially "American Horror Story" (particularly "Coven" (season 3) & "1984" (season 9) for all the fall vibes and "Murder House" (season 1) & the current season, "Double Feature" (aka season 10, which you can stream now on Hulu) for all the spooky vibes). I haven't always been a fan of horror but AHS does an amazing job at not having a lot of jump scares and actually follows a story that you can really get into. Ryan Murphy in general is just super talented and I can get behind anything he produces because it's honestly the best.
Some of my other Halloween favorites are "Stranger Things" (ESPECIALLY season 2), "Supernatural" (naturally), "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" (and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," which is, of course, great for when you're feeling nostalgic, as well), "Dracula" on Netflix (I'm bummed that it wasn't renewed for a second season but it's still great) and "The Haunting of Hill House." I'm also a sucker for "The Haunting of Bly Manor" (produced by the same guy who did Hill House), but there's just something about Hill House that gives me more Halloween vibes than Bly Manor.
FILM
As far as movie recommendations go for this time of year, I can honestly tell you that anything directed by Tim Burton is at the top of my list. This includes some of my favorites, like "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," "The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Edward Scissorhands," "Beetlejuice," etc. Basically, if it's directed/produced by Tim Burton, GREAT. But it's even better if the one & only Johnny Depp is starring in the main role.
And, since I'm not the biggest fan of scary movies, I do tend to also go for the animated movies that are actually usually pretty awesome. Some of my favorites include "Monster House" (a classic), "Paranorman," "Frankenweenie," etc. I'll always be a kid at heart, so of COURSE I'm gonna love the laidback animated movies during this time of year. Like I said, I'm a sucker for nostalgia, and considering these films were a major part of my childhood, there's just something so calming about rewatching them this time of year.
I'm ALSO a sucker for horror movies from the late '90s. There's just something about them . . . I don't know! But you can be sure to find me watching & rewatching gems like "Scream (1996)," "The Mask (1994)" (not necessarily "horror" but I do love this one around the Halloween season), "Hocus Pocus" (of COURSE), "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (now that I've finally watched it and fallen in love), etc.
I'm definitely more of a fan of tv shows than I am movies, but I think that just has to do with me preferring to watch more shorter episodes rather than less longer films. But I can sit & rewatch these movies a million times and never tire of them, so I am a-okay with that.
