HOW TO STYLE: CARDIGANS

One of my all-time favorite fall clothing staples is the classic cardigan. I prefer the longline cardigans (as you can probably tell from the next few photos), but honestly, I love any outfit that involves layering, especially when it’s done with a cardigan.
I’m CONSTANTLY looking for fall style inspiration, so I decided to share some of my favorite ways to style my favorite article of clothing in hopes that I can give some of you some fall style inspo. Let’s get to it, shall we?
OUTFIT #1 - - STRIPED TEE + CREAM CARDIGAN
This outfit is essentially the same one I posted on my 21 Buttons profile, except I paired the tee with a more ripped pair of jeans for this post (which you can’t really tell are ripped because of my sweater, but oh well).
*Totally unimportant side note: I honestly LOVE these jeans. Even though they’re made with a stiffer material than I’m used to (they’re still by Old Navy, aka my home away from home), they’re SUPER comfy and add the perfect amount of “edge” to ANY outfit. Just sayin.’
Anyway, I paired my fave pair of jeans with this floral striped tee (which I’m also OBSESSED with, btw) and some super cute sandals for those warmer fall days. Although, here lately, I’ve been a literal ice cube, so those sandals are most likely gonna disappear into a box with all of my other spring/summer stuff soon . . .

OUTFIT #2 - - MAUVE TEE + BLUE CARDIGAN
I honestly LOVE this outfit. For starter’s, this top (from Old Navy, of COURSE) is SUPER light and flowy, so it can either be worn alone on warmer days or paired with a cardigan for a more chic/casual look on colder days. And you can’t go wrong with a pair of good ol’ booties. I LOVE these by the brand Vintage 7 Eight. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this pair, but I made sure to tag a pair from Target that's similar.
OUTFIT #3 - - ORANGE TOP + CREAM CARDIGAN
I will admit that I hadn’t exactly planned my outfits before taking the photos for this post. But when I quickly paired up these items for an outfit, I suddenly realized how utterly ADORABLE it is. It’s probably the most fall-esque outfit I’ll ever wear, but when it goes together this well, WHY WEAR ANYTHING ELSE?!
Again, the boots are from the brand Vintage 7 Eight and they’re just AMAZING. The top is long-sleeved for those super cold fall days (when it’s juuuuust starting to transition to winter and you can feel Christmas right around the corner . . .) and feels SUPER cozy under the cardigan. Again, the super ripped jeans have made an appearance because how can you not love them?
OUTFIT #4 - - WHITE TANK + BLUE CARDIGAN
The most casual outfit I could put together for this post: a simple white tank under a blue cardigan paired with jeans and sneakers. This is always one of my go-to outfit choices for work because the Keds are just so freakin’ comfy. That and it can get a little warm working in retail, so, you know *shrug*.
I also like pairing a maroon tank with the cream cardigan, black jeans, and some black ankle boots, but I figured the cream cardigan already got way more love on this post than the blue one, so I just threw this one in as a sympathy outfit. Don’t tell . . .
And last but not least . . .
OUTFIT #5 - - MAROON STRIPED TEE + CREAM CARDIGAN
The same thing that happened with outfit #3 happened with this one: I didn’t realize how good it looked as an outfit until I randomly plucked the items from my closet and my dresser and threw them on. I love me my fall colors, and this maroon tee is certainly giving me fall vibes.
The jeans are my favorite style from Old Navy (you already knew that was coming, didn’t you?): Mid-Rise Rockstar. I honestly love these jeans because they’re super stretchy and EXTREMELY comfortable. That and they literally go with ANYTHING, so it’s a win-win no matter what.
