FALL BATH & BODY WORKS HAUL

It's that time of the year again! And man, oh MAN, am I SO happy that it is! The heat this summer was just dreadful. But now, we (hopefully) have much colder weather to look forward to and finally some time well spent in fuzzy socks and sweaters. I personally could not WAIT to get my hands on some of Bath & Body Works' fall stuff this year (as usual). Like every year, you've got the scents that rear their head once more, but you've also got the new scents that are always just as incredible.

SO, to start out the fall season, I decided to share with you some of the items that I've picked up here and there as the products have been creeping in. And who knows, maybe you'll see something on this list that catches your eye and you end up with a new favorite. You never know . . .

Key Notes: Blackberry nectar, whipped vanilla, golden amber, and creamy sandalwood

STORY TIME. Sooooooo shortly after I had purchased this body wash, I went to the beach. And you know how you're supposed to apply sunscreen if you're going to be exposed to direct/prolonged sunlight? Yeah, I didn't do that. So guess who had bright red skin and excruciating pain for days. Yep: this girl. Naturally, aloe vera became my best friend, and you know what? THIS SHOWER GEL HAS ALOE IN IT. Yeah, I KNOW! So I was basically showering with this every hour on the hour, just trying to lock some hydration into my skin to treat my idiot mistake. And if it weren't for this beauty of a product, I may have had to deal with my sunburn for weeks longer than I actually did. So thanks Bath & Body Works (as usual).

Anyways, as for the scent of this lovely product, it's not exactly what you might think of when you first think of fall. You can't smell any cloves, nutmeg, spice, etc. But what you CAN smell is the subtle aroma of blackberries and vanilla, which mix to create the perfect subtle scent that I absolutely ADORE in the shower. Now I just have to buy some of the ultra shea body creams (because they're my FAVORITE) and stock up on some of these shower gels for next year (although I'm sure it's a scent that'll be making a comeback).

Key Notes: Pink lady apple, sparkling champagne, jasmine honey, and autumn woods

If there's one thing I absolutely LOVE when it starts to get colder outside, it's a good scrub. Once the temperatures drop, my skin starts drying out. And trust me when I say it's not pretty . . . But with a thick sugar scrub like this one, my dry skin is sure to be a thing of the past. I much prefer sugar scrubs since the granules are so large, allowing for a deeper exfoliation. This helps to take off that pesky layer of dry skin to reveal the healthy skin underneath. It also makes your skin more receptive to whatever moisturizer you use after showering (peep my absolute FAVORITE lotion below).

As I shared with the previous product, my favorite thing to do during the fall and winter months is exfoliate. And if there's one thing that gets SUPER dry during this time, it's the bottoms of my feet. For a while, I was using the Amope Pedi Perfect electric pumice stone. But seeing as such a device doesn't really allow for intense exfoliation/centralized focus on certain areas, I decided to give this bad boy a try. I honestly can't even begin to explain how much dry skin I sloughed off of my feet with this...Mainly because I get ROUGH calluses on my big toes from working, but I also get a lot of dryness around my heels, as well. But that's not really a problem anymore with this handy dandy product. But remember: ALWAYS HYDRATE AFTER YOU EXFOLIATE.

Key Notes: Ripe fig, creamy coconut milk, caramelized brown sugar, and soft musk

Ah yes, my FAVORITE. Not only do I love this particular scent (especially for fall), but I just love the feel of this cream and how utterly hydrating it is. For starters, this body cream rubs into your skin like THAT *snaps.* This means you don't have to sit and rub lotion into your freshly shaved legs for HOURS to notice that your skin is properly hydrated. All you really need is a dime sized amount of this cream and BAM, your legs (or your whole body, if you're really dry) are as smooth as silk. I recommend this to EVERYONE, especially those who, like me, dry out like the desert when it starts to get colder.

Key Notes: Ripe fig, creamy coconut milk, caramelized brown sugar, and soft musk

I don't know about YOU, but Bath & Body Works' fragrance mists have me smelling myself ALL. DAY. Especially when I spray this scent on me. And when I say "spray," I mean giving myself 20 spritzes (minimum) before walking out the door. Maybe that's why I go through so much of this during the fall months . . . ANYWAYS, it's incredibly strong and lasts A WHILE, which is nice for anyone wanting to smell their perfume throughout the day. Although I do like to top myself off, just to increase the intensity of it. But honestly, you could just do a couple spritzes of this in the morning, spend the entire day out shopping, hanging out with friends, etc. and STILL smell remnants of this scent when you go to bed at 10 o'clock (or whenever you guys go to bed. I'm a granny, so I wouldn't know). It's seriously THAT good.

Key Notes: Poached pear, toasted praline, graham cracker, and tonka bean

If there's one thing that I love more than colder weather, it's the smells that comes with it. Fall is my favorite time of the year because (naturally), the most popular scent around this time of year is pumpkin or anything with nutmeg in it. BUT, when Bath & Body Works came out with this scent this year, I was INCREDIBLY happy. It's just one of those scents that makes you think of fall and all of the sweet treats that come with it. That and I'm a sucker for anything with that sort of cinnamon/nutmeg/vanilla smell to it, so this one is definitely perfect.

Key Notes: Apricot nectar, mimosa petals, and Tuscan cypress

I'll admit, I used to HATE the smell of Twilight Woods. Well, maybe hate isn't the right word, but I just didn't LIKE it. Anyway, I found out that every year, B&BW reformulates their scents so that they're not distributing the same exact products every year. SO, this year, when I gave this bad boy a whiff, I was pleasantly surprised that I actually LIKED it. Long story short, this is now a staple in my fall fragrance selection and I am so glad that I gave it a chance this year.

Key Notes: Crisp apple, succulent pear, and cinnamon

Ahhhhh, APPLES. The epitome of fall. So, naturally, I just HAD to grab an apple-scented hand soap when a coupon surfaced for $2.95 hand soaps. BASICALLY, I dry up like a prune around this time of year. Luckily, my hands don't really start to crack and bleed until the dead of winter when it's -20 degrees with a chance of the flu, thus excessive hand washing ensues. But that doesn't mean I don't deal with dry skin in the fall when the weather starts to shift a little. SO, I made sure to grab my FAVORITE, the deep cleansing hand soap. Because if you're gonna be washing your hands a lot, you might as well exfoliate that dead skin off while you're doing it.

Key Notes: Creamy pumpkin, toasted marshmallow, and warm praline

I'm actually not the BIGGEST fan of this scent in the body care products. But when I smelled this hand soap, I knew I needed it for fall. There's just something about the smell of marshmallows that lets you know that fall is really here. And, like I said before, exfoliation is key for this slightly cooler weather. Especially if you're like me and start to reflect a drought afflicted landscape the second it drops below 60 degrees outside . . .

Key Notes: Fresh pine, juniper, and juicy pear

I'll be honest, this scent in a candle smells EXACTLY like my dad. But for SOME reason, in a hand soap, for me anyway, it smells almost identical to the Afternoon Apple Picking hand soap from above. I'm not sure WHY, but it just does. But I'm glad about this because I'd much rather have my hands smelling like apples than my dad's cologne. That's just not my cup of tea, y'know?

Key Notes: Zesty lemon, mint leaves, and thyme

It's not a "clean" scent unless it has lemon or some other citrusy scent in it. So OF COURSE I love this one. It's super fresh (again, because of the lemon, but also because of the mint). Besides, sometimes you need a break from all of the pumpkin/nutmeg scents during fall. Of course, I could NEVER live without my fall scented candles/wallflower refills (KEEP READING FOR THOSE), but when it comes to soaps, I could always use a little switcheroo.

LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS

Key Notes: Fresh ground cinnamon and Tahitian vanilla bean

When I first smelled this candle, I thought "HOLY COW, it smells EXACTLY like a graham cracker!" And I still think this . . . Of course, I'm the type of person who loves scents like this, especially when it has vanilla in it because HELLO, HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE VANILLA?! Anyway, I've never been big on candles, but just having this one, even just to take off the lid and smell it every now and then, just comforts me. Don't judge . . .

If you're a sucker for homemade apple crisp, THIS SOAP IS FOR YOU. Unfortunately, they didn't have this soap in the deep cleansing like I prefer, but I like my gentle foaming hand soaps just as much. Anyway, this soap is DIVINE and actually makes me think someone's baking apple crisp every time I twist the cap off to smell it. It's THAT good.

WOODEN DRY BRUSH (NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE)

I have YET to use this bad boy, but since I'm so big on skin health, I'm sure I'll love this thing. BASICALLY, you're supposed to run this brush along your arms away from your heart to encourage blood flow and increase the circulation in your skin.

HOW CUTE IS FLETCHER THE FOX?! I honestly love him so much . . . ANYWAY, these bad boys are infused with shea butter, which means that you're feet are going to be SUPER hydrated once you take them off. My biggest suggestion for smooth feet is to exfoliate (especially with the pumice stone mentioned above, which you can find here), cleanse, moisturize (I've been LOVING the ultra shea body cream in the wild blackberry & vanilla scent, which you can find here), and pop these bad boys on to lock that moisture in. You're welcome :)

Out of all of the new wallflower plugs that were brought out this year for fall, my personal favorite was this beauty. This particular plug has a nightlight that stays on all day, but when it looks this gorgeous, why would you possibly care? Anyway, all of the plugs this year were STUNNING, and if I could’ve bought all of them, I would have. BUT I had to restrain myself or my wallet would be very mad at me.

Key Notes: Creamy pumpkin, vanilla crème, and fresh ground nutmeg

Pumpkin pie. YUM. Excuse me while I go eat about a MILLION. I love anything with pumpkin in it around this time of year. OF COURSE I had to buy a wallflower named after one of my favorite fall treats. That and it smells AMAZING. Maybe not quite the same as a fresh baked pumpkin pie (I’m salivating as I’m writing this. Can you tell?), but it’s still incredible.

Key Notes: Bourbon glazed apples, maple sugar, and creamy vanilla

My favorite scents when it comes to colder weather will ALWAYS be anything with vanilla and spices in it. SO, naturally, I absolutely loved this one when I smelled it in the store. Unfortunately it’s been a while since I bought this one, so I don’t remember EXACTLY what it smells like, but I know it smells pretty delicious. Otherwise, why would I have bought it?

Key Notes: Crisp red apple, golden nectar, and warm clove spice

This one, from what I’ve heard, is a huge hit around fall time. I used to hate this scent, and even at the end of last season when it started to hit stores, I couldn’t stand the smell, at least not in the candle scent. BUT, for some reason, when this bad boy is in the form of a liquid fragrance (as it is in the wallflower), it smells absolutely HEAVENLY. Definitely a new fall favorite for this girl.

Key Notes: White pumpkin, autumn spice blend, and ground cinnamon

Okay. If there is ONE SCENT that would sum up fall, it would be this one. For some reason, when I first smelled this particular scent, it reminded me of eggnog. HOWEVER, when it’s actually plugged in, it gives off this rich, spicy scent that just makes me want to curl up in my bed under my covers and instantly fall asleep. I was originally planning on purchasing this one in a 3-wick candle (which, if you’re more of a candle person, I’ve done the liberty of linking that up here), but since I don’t really burn candles, I decided to try out the wallflowers. And I am SO GLAD that I did because WOW, does it smell good!
