THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER

Oh, hi, I didn't see you there. Well, I guess now that you're here, you might as well join me on my trip down memory lane. First and only pit stop: Christmas 2008.
The day started out like any other Christmas morning...
My older sister and I woke up early in the morning to be met with the sight of a gorgeous Christmas tree encircled with what appeared to us as a million presents. Both of us "oo"-ed and "ah"-ed at the scene before us. Naturally, we had never thought that one day we would be in the center of what appeared to be Santa's Workshop, yet here we were. One might assume that this was where the fun stopped. But oh no, there was more.

Once we managed to finally pry our eyes from the beautifully wrapped presents, we couldn't help but notice the sooty footprints that led away from our fireplace, the ash caked onto the wooden floorboards as if it had been trod in by a very large human being. Obviously, it was Santa Claus, no doubt about it! And clearly he had no idea how to use a broom...

We hooted and hollered at this fact, as it was made quite apparent that Santa had been here and that not only did he leave us a mound of presents to open, but he also left us a decent sized mess to clean up...Nevertheless, we were happy.
However, our smiles only grew larger when we made our way into the dining room, only to see that our once-filled plate of cookies was all but a few crumbs accompanied by a (nearly) empty glass of milk. Incredible! But it didn't stop there. I immediately noticed clumps of, well...hair. But not just any hair: Santa's beard hair! He must have lost it in the midst of scarfing down all of those cookies...even more incredible!
Both of us reveled in the fact that Santa had come and eaten the snacks we had left out for him, left us a year's supply of toys (each), and, unfortunately, left us an ashy mess on the floorboards. But neither one of us was phased by this, because despite the boot-shaped residue on the floor, our hearts were filled to the brim with happiness, for this was truly the best Christmas ever.
