HOMEMADE FACE/BODY SCRUB: A REVIEW

Yesterday, I decided to take the plunge and make my first ever batch of face/body scrub. The reason for this is simple: seeing as I am a seventeen-year-old girl with ramped up hormones, my acne has been a little worse than usual. It was my sister who suggested that I might benefit from using a sugar scrub every once in a while, so I hit the store, purchased some coconut oil and proceeded to (loosely) follow a recipe that I found on helloglow.com (you can find that recipe here along with a boatload of others).
If you just simply wish to do what I did, you can combine 1 cup of regular sugar and 1/2 a cup of virgin coconut oil and voila, you have yourself a delighful smelling exfoliant!

So far, I've only used this scrub for my hands, which has certainly been worth it, seeing as my hands are now as soft as a baby's bottom. However, I have decided to slowly incorporate the scrub into my evening skincare routine, as my skin is slighly oily and I don't wish to make my acne worse by using coconut oil that may clog my pores even more.
Nevertheless, this recipe is DEFINITELY worth it, especially if you plan on exfoliating your hands & the rest of your body. But don't worry, I will be posting an update on the facial aspect of this as soon as I start to use it, I promise.
Update: I've been using this scrub on my face for a few days now and I have noticed quite the difference. Not only is my face A LOT smoother, but I think it's really cut down on the inflammation in my skin, making my acne (slightly) less noticeable.
Thanks for reading! Until next time 😊
(P.S. How are you guys enjoying the new site design? I didn't change too much, just some fonts and the way certain things look, but I think that for now, it's looking pretty good. Feel free to leave a comment below to let me know what you think 👍🏻)
